Hearing His Heart

Yet Not I But Through Christ In Me / CityAlight

The Completed New Testament is the fulfillment of God’s special revelation. It’s the Gospel: the good news of Jesus Christ. “In the past, God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe”  Hebrews 1:1-2.  Through the words of Jesus in Scripture, we can “hear” God’s heart and God’s voice–and know what God is truly like. These words were not written for a few, select individuals who could jump through the right spiritual hoops (“For God so loved the world…”). It’s very AMAZING that someone in Africa, in Saudi Arabia, in China, in Morocco, and even in Arkansas can “hear” Jesus’ voice by reading the same Bible.  Comparing us to sheep and He as the Shepherd, Jesus says in John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”  Why?  Because the sheep know who He is. They belong to Him and they recognize Him by the sound of His voice. Can you tell the difference between Jesus’s voice and your own voice?  Which one do you allow to speak louder to your spirit?

Father, help me to hear your voice, to know your heart, and to seek your will in my life daily.

Ask yourself how God can get the most glory out of a situation.  Jesus will always push us toward the right solution.  It may not be the easiest or most profitable, but God’s glory is the goal!

Memory Verse

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
